Terms and conditions
Effective from 1 November 2025 · Last updated: 1 November 2025
This is an English translation for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Swedish version prevails.
1. General
These terms and conditions apply between Lighthouse Digitalbyrå, a sole proprietorship (company reg. no. 960414-0013) based in Hallstahammar, Sweden, and any customer who engages the company for web development, hosting, support and photography services.
The terms apply to all assignments unless otherwise agreed in writing. By approving a quote, confirming an assignment or paying an invoice, the customer is deemed to have read and accepted these terms.
2. Services and delivery
Lighthouse Digitalbyrå offers custom websites, hosting and maintenance services and technical support, as well as photography and image editing services as per the quote.
Delivery takes place according to the scope and timeline stated in the quote. The customer is responsible for providing the necessary material (e.g. text, logos, images and login details) in good time. Delays caused by the customer may extend the delivery time.
Any additions or changes outside the approved quote are charged separately at the current hourly rate.
Customer material & third-party licences: The customer is responsible for ensuring that material supplied (text, images, fonts etc.) may be used and does not infringe the rights of third parties. Services may include third-party licences (e.g. stock images, fonts, plugins) that belong to the respective rights holders and may require separate licences in the customer’s name.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are stated excluding VAT.
- Payment is made by invoice with 14 days’ payment terms.
- For web development projects, a start-up fee of SEK 1,500 is invoiced once the quote is approved. The remaining amount is invoiced on delivery and must be paid before the site goes live.
- Late payment interest is charged in accordance with the Swedish Interest Act (reference rate + 8 percentage points). Lighthouse reserves the right to pause delivery or hosting in the event of non-payment.
4. Hosting and domains
- Hosting and maintenance services are offered through Lighthouse’s hosting plans and invoiced monthly.
- The agreement runs for 12 months and renews automatically unless terminated at least 30 days before the new period.
- Domain registration and renewal are included in the hosting plans and handled by Lighthouse (as a Loopia reseller). The customer is responsible for providing correct details at registration.
- Domains are registered in the customer’s name where possible. Lighthouse administers renewals during the term of the agreement.
- In the event of non-payment, hosting and support services may be suspended until full payment has been received.
5. Ownership and licence
The customer owns the rights to their own material (text, images, logos etc.). Lighthouse retains ownership of all technical code, structure and design until full payment has been received.
After full payment, the customer receives a non-exclusive, perpetual and transferable licence to use the delivered web code and design for the specific website, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Source code that forms part of Lighthouse’s general component library, tools or templates is not transferred, but is covered by the above licence to the extent it is part of the delivery.
All websites developed by Lighthouse shall, for the first three (3) years, display the credit:
“Created by Lighthouse Digitalbyrå”
This may not be removed or changed without written consent. After three (3) years, the credit can be removed through a separate buy-out agreement between the parties.
6. Photography
Photography assignments are quoted according to scope. Unless otherwise agreed, the full amount is invoiced after delivery.
The customer receives a non-exclusive right of use to the delivered images for their own use or marketing. The right does not include resale, transfer or editing of the images without Lighthouse’s approval. The customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary model releases when the photography concerns their staff, events or premises.
Cancellation/rescheduling: Rescheduling is free of charge in the event of illness or force majeure. Otherwise, a reasonable fee may be charged for lost time and costs if an assignment is cancelled at short notice (<48 hours).
Marketing: Lighthouse may show excerpts from the assignment in its portfolio and marketing, unless the customer has objected in writing no later than at delivery. Personal data and sensitive subjects are handled with care.
7. Limitation of liability
Lighthouse is not liable for indirect damage such as loss of data, income or goodwill. The company’s liability is always limited to no more than the amount the customer has paid for the assignment in question.
8. Confidentiality and data protection
Lighthouse treats all customer information confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection rules (GDPR). Information is not disclosed to third parties without the customer’s consent, except where required by law or to fulfil the agreement (e.g. domain or hosting provider).
9. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to fulfil its obligations if this is due to circumstances beyond the party’s reasonable control, such as decisions by authorities, strikes, illness, outages at a supplier, interruptions in power or network supply, or similar events.
10. Termination, cancellation and data handover
- Termination: Hosting agreements are terminated in writing at least 30 days before a new 12-month period. A period that has started is not refunded.
- Cancellation for material breach: Either party may cancel the agreement if the other party materially breaches it and does not remedy the breach within 10 days of a written request.
- Suspension for non-payment: Lighthouse may temporarily suspend hosting and support after a reasonable payment reminder.
- Data handover: When the agreement ends, the customer’s content (e.g. files, images, text) is handed over in a reasonable standard format on request. Third-party licences (e.g. fonts, stock images) are not included.
11. Changes to the terms
Lighthouse reserves the right to update these terms. The latest version is always published at lighthousedigital.se/villkor and applies from the date stated at the top of the page. Material changes are communicated to existing customers by email.
12. Governing law and disputes
Agreements between Lighthouse and the customer are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall primarily be resolved through dialogue between the parties and secondarily by the Västmanland District Court (Västerås).
